I have an assortment of mics and mic emulations as well as a DI from a David Gage pickup for the upright bass -- I also have a 4-String Fender P-bass with flatwound strings, a 5-String F-bass (Fender Jazz style) with steel roundwound strings, and a 6-string Custom bass with nickel-wrapped DRs... 

I use a Focusrite 18i8 for my preamp and interface into Pro Tools or Ableton if needed, but lately prefer Presonus Studio One
